Saxo Bank releases new version of OpenAPI for Excel
Multi-asset trading and investment specialist Saxo Bank has released a new version of its OpenAPI for Excel, Saxo’s home-built Excel add-in that ports a broad range of OpenAPI functionality straight into Excel.
Version 1.3.7 of the solution features an updated add-in certificate. This new certificate will expire by January 2023.
Recently, Saxo Bank’s OpenAPI for Excel enjoyed performance improvements and a number of small bug fixes related to VBA interactions. These interactions used to result in single-item responses, which would show as Variants with multiple entries instead of just 1. This has now been updated.
Let’s recall that, in version 1.3.4, the solution saw expanded add-ins features with support for Level 2 market data. That release also addressed some minor bugs that affected some users where localization settings in Windows affected Excel’s behavior. Additionally, streaming functionality has been restored following unannounced changes in Microsoft Office updates for Excel versions 2019 and 365.
OpenAPI for Excel provides the flexibility of Excel and VBA, coupled with the infrastructure that powers Saxo Bank’s trading platforms. The OpenAPI add-in works both as supplement to the SaxoTrader platform and as complete stand-alone solution.
It can be used to build custom workspaces right away with native VBA and Excel support. One can also download Excel snippets from the Tutorial Series, which break down all available functionality in bite-size components. The Excel add-in supports most OpenAPI services and is available for all recent versions of Microsoft Excel.
