Institutional FX trading breaks out of 2-month slumber in June 2026, volumes +8%
Following a very slow two months to begin Q2 2026, institutional FX trading activity picked up nicely in June 2026, although was still well below record levels seen in March 2026, at the outset of the Iran war.
Each of FXSpotStream, Cboe FX, EuronextFX and Deutsche Borse’s 360T saw healthy single digit percent increases in trading volumes in June, averaging an 8% increase over May 2026 levels.

Cboe FX (formerly HotspotFX)
- June 2026 average daily volumes were $59.63 billion, +8.7% from May’s $54.86 billion.
EuronextFX (formerly FastMatch)
- June 2026 ADV $30.53 billion, +8.7% from May’s ADV of $28.07 billion.
FXSpotStream
- June’s Total ADV of USD 160.049 billion represented a 55.95% increase over June 2025, and a 7.87% increase MoM. This consisted of USD 113.188 billion in Spot and USD 46.860 billion in other products. Year-to-date, for the period Jan-Jun 2026, FXSpotStream’s overall ADV of USD 155.169 billion marks a 43.95% increase when compared to the same period last year.

- FXSpotStream’s Other ADV MoM (Jun ‘26 vs May ‘26) increased 8.87%.
- FXSpotStream’s Other ADV YoY (Jun ‘26 vs Jun ‘25) increased 32.62%.

- Average daily volumes (ADV) at 360T came in at $42.39 billion in June 2026, up 6.4% from May’s $39.86 billion.
