CySEC deletes Binance Cyprus from Register of Crypto Asset Service Providers
The Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC) announces that, at its meeting held on 1 August 2023, it decided, pursuant to section 61E(5)(b) of the Prevention and Suppression of Money Laundering and Terrorist Financing Law of 2007, as amended, and article 7(1)(a) of Directive for the Register of Crypto Asset Service Providers, to delete the company Binance Cyprus Ltd, with Registration Number 022/22, from the Register of Service Providers of Crypto-assets.
The decision reflects the fact that the company has not provided services in the segment of crypto-assets for a continuous period of six months.
Let’s recall that CySEC granted Binance Class 3 registration as a Crypto Asset Services Provider (CASP) by CySEC back in October 2022.
The registration allowed Binance to offer services, including spot, custodian, staking and card services, in compliance with the requirements of the CySEC’s anti-money laundering and counter terrorist financing (AML/CTF) rules.
