Wise names Kingsley Kemish its interim CFO
Wise plc (LON:WISE) today appointed an interim Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Matthew Briers, CFO for Wise, was recently involved in a bicycle accident and is now recovering at home, the company explains. To ensure Mr Briers’ recovery is complete, his return to work will be gradual.
Kingsley Kemish, currently Wise’s Finance Director, will report directly to Kristo Käärmann (Wise co-founder and CEO) in the role of Interim CFO for Wise until Mr Briers’ recovery and return to work are complete.
Kristo Käärmann said:
“We all wish Matt a speedy recovery and my thanks go to Kingsley for stepping into this interim role. Kingsley’s experience and knowledge of Wise will provide continuity for us as we continue to grow and deliver on our mission.”
Speaking of management changes at Wise, let’s recall that in December 2021, Taavet Hinrikus said he would step down as Chair and Director, and David Wells became Independent Non-Executive Chair.
David Wells, formerly Chief Financial Officer of Netflix, has been a director of the Wise Board since July 2019. He has also served as a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
