Rakshit Choudhary becomes Deriv CEO as founder Jean-Yves Sireau steps down
Jean-Yves Sireau, the founder and longtime CEO of Retail FX and CFDs broker Deriv.com, has announced that he is stepping back to the role of “Founder” and handing the full-time CEO reins at the company to Rakshit Choudhary.
Rakshit Choudhary, who is based in Malaysia, has been with Deriv since 2009, initially joining as a Quantitative Analyst. Following a series of promotions he was named COO of Deriv in 2019, and last year was named co-CEO. (We had spoken with Rakshit Choudhary soon after he added the co-CEO title last summer).
Over the past year Jean-Yves Sireau has launched an AI-powered healthcare company called N1 Healthcare, and apparently plans to devote more time to that venture. N1 Healthcare creates highly personalized health reports using genomics, biomarkers, and AI-driven insights to optimize preventive care.
Deriv.com is a leading CFDs broker with 3M+ clients, 80M+ trades per month, and 1,400 employees worldwide. The company operates licensed subsidiaries in the EU (Malta) and in several offshore regions (Labuan, BVI, Vanuatu, Mauritius).
Jean-Yves Sireau posted the following explanation of the changes and transition at Deriv.
After 25 years at the helm of Deriv, I’m stepping back from day-to-day leadership and transitioning fully into my role as Founder. I’ll continue to help shape the company’s long-term vision — but with more space to explore what comes next.
It’s been an incredible journey building Deriv into what it is today, and I’ve had the privilege of working closely with Rakshit Choudhary since 2009. He’s played a key role in shaping our culture, our growth, and our mission. I have complete confidence in his leadership as he steps into the role of CEO to lead Deriv into its next chapter.
As for me, I’m beginning to turn my focus to new ventures — with AI-powered healthcare being a particular area of interest.
Thank you to everyone who’s been part of this story so far. I’m proud of what we’ve built, and excited for what’s ahead — both for Deriv and beyond.
