FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Michael Buchbinder, a longtime Partner in Sweden based CFDs broker Scandinavian Capital Markets, has left the company.

Michael Buchbinder, who is based in Toronto, Canada, appears to have left the online trading world altogether, and will be focusing on a new golf events planning business called (appropriately) Fore Giving.

Scandinavian Capital Markets, an STP (straight-through-processing) CFDs broker, was founded in Sweden in 2011 by Arif Alexander Ahmad, who remains the company’s Managing Partner. Michael Buchbinder joined the company as a Partner in 2015, driving its expansion into the institutional brokerage industry. Scandinavian is registered in Sweden with the Financial Supervisory Authority (Finansinspektionen), with the company also operating an offshore arm domiciled in Mauritius.

Regarding his departure from Scandinavian and his new golf venture, Michael posted the following note on social media.

Yesterday, I updated my linked in profile with my new career path in golf event planning, Fore Giving.

It was scary, exciting, bitter sweet. I’ve been in the world of FX for almost 17 years.

I’ve met a lot of great people, grown friendships and relationships, traveled the world and have many great stories and experiences.

To survive in a zero sum game world for this long is no small feat.

The space is getting bigger with a new generation of traders coming of age.

But at the same smaller and more complicated. Prop firms becoming brokers. Crypto providing CFDs trading. Multi asset trading everywhere. E-Banks, managed products. Regulations or lack there of. You can’t just be an FX brokerage anymore.

It is time for me to follow my passion and do what I can to make the world better and leave a legacy.

I love golfing and being around the game. The golf industry is somewhat of a blue ocean. The game is growing and there is lots of room for creativity to flourish.
