Exclusive: GMI ops head George Kostidis departs
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that George Kostidis has left his position as Head of Operations at Retail FX and CFDs broker GMI.
George Kostidis had served as GMI’s Head of Operations out of the company’s Cyprus office since 2023. He has also previously worked at Errante, EverestCM, Orbex and MFP Markets, over a 10 year career in the FX and CFDs industry.
GMI is controlled by by former CEO Ashraf Ebid. The brand operates in the UK under FCA licensed Global Market Index Limited, as well as offshore in Mauritius.
George posted the following note on social media regarding his departure from GMI.
After an intense and rewarding journey, my chapter with GMI has come to an end.
Over the past years, I’ve had the opportunity to lead and scale global operations in a regulated Forex & CFD environment — working across Client Services, Back Office, Payments, Risk, Trading Operations, and closely with technology and regulatory stakeholders.
My strength sits in execution and scale-readiness: designing operational frameworks, launching and stabilizing products, improving controls and automation, and acting as the bridge between strategy and day-to-day operations in fast-moving environments.
I’m now opening space for the next journey — a senior operational leadership role where structure, ownership, and hands-on leadership matter, and where operations are expected to support growth, resilience, and long-term sustainability.
