Exclusive: Former Markets.com CEO Stavros Anastasiou becomes Board Advisor at Revolut
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that longtime FX and CFDs industry executive Stavros Anastasiou has joined neobank Revolut, as a Board Advisor.
Stavros Anastasiou, who is based in Cyprus, left his position as CEO of Retail FX and CFDs broker Markets.com earlier this summer, after which Markets.com named Andreas Kyriacou as EU CEO. Stavros Anastasiou had been with the Markets.com / Safecap / Finalto group since 2016, joining initially as Chief Compliance Officer of Safecap/Markets.com, before being named Group CCO of parent company Finalto (formerly TradeTech Group) in 2018. He was promoted to CEO of Markets.com in 2023 after the group was acquired by Hong Kong based Gopher Investments.
Prior to joining Safecap / Markets.com in 2016, Stavros was Chief Compliance Officer at FxPro, working at FxPro from 2011-2016.
The move would seem to indicate that Revolut will be looking to expand its neobank offering at some point to include financial trading in CFDs. London based Revolut has been actively expanding its operations into the EU, recently selecting Paris as its EU headquarters, and hiring Béatrice Cossa-Dumurgier as Western Europe CEO.
