Exclusive: ActivTrades hires FCA and Britannia alum Martin Bleisteiner to head Compliance
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that London based Retail FX and CFDs broker ActivTrades plc has hired Martin Bleisteiner to the position of Group Chief Compliance Officer.
Martin Bleisteiner, who resides in Lisbon, Portugal, joins ActivTrades from derivatives broker Britannia Global Markets, where he worked for the past three years in London as Senior Compliance Officer. Prior to his time at Britannia, Martin worked for eight years at UK financial regulator The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), in Supervision, Policy & Competition – Markets Division. He also has prior work experience at Market Securities LLP, and Cantor Fitzgerald Europe, where he was Head of German FX Sales. Martin had also previously worked at ActivTrades in 2010-2011, as an FX Sales Associate on ActivTrades’ German desk.
We had reported earlier this year that ActivTrades’ longtime Global Head of Risk & Compliance, Jonathan Silvester, had left the company. At the time ActivTrades brought on board former eToro executive Hassan Abbas Datoo to fill the Compliance function.
ActivTrades operates licensed subsidiaries in the UK (FCA), Bahamas (SCB), Italy (CMVM), Portugal (CMVM), Brazil (Bacen), and Mauritius (FSC). The company is operated from London led by founder, majority shareholder and CEO Alex Pusco.
