Crypto market maker Portofino hires Melchior de Villeneuve (CRO) and Dipak Shah (OTC Trading)
Switzerland based Portofino Technologies, a leading proprietary trading firm and liquidity provider in digital assets, has announced the appointment of Melchior de Villeneuve as Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) and Dipak Shah as Head of OTC Trading. Following last year’s significant growth, the highly experienced senior executives will further bolster Portofino’s management team and advance its position as the cryptocurrency market maker of choice for clients.
Melchior de Villeneuve (pictured above) joins as Chief Revenue Officer to oversee all revenue-generating initiatives, including institutional sales, strategic partnerships, and business development. Melchior brings over a decade of experience in financial services, fintech, and trading, having held several senior revenue and business development roles at Lynceus, Architas, Friends Life (now part of Aviva) and AXA Investment Managers. As CRO, Melchior will focus on scaling Portofino’s direct client relationships, expanding Portofino’s activity into new institutional segments, and developing innovative revenue models.
Dipak Shah joins as Head of OTC Trading to strengthen Portofino’s position as a premier liquidity provider. With over 15 years of experience, Dipak previously worked at Nomura, where he was Managing Director and Head of FX Options Trading EMEA and NY. Prior to this, he held a number of senior leadership roles in FX Options Trading and portfolio management at Citi, Capula and Goldmans Sachs. At Portofino, Dipak will be responsible for expanding the firm’s OTC business, leveraging Portofino’s proprietary technology stack to build deep liquidity offering, competitive pricing, and customized execution strategies.
