Binance Australia CEO Leigh Travers has announced that he is stepping down from his role as CEO of the company. He will be replaced by Ben Rose, who has been General Manager of Binance New Zealand for the past year.

Leigh Travers joined crypto exchange Binance in 2021, after spending the previous seven years at DigitalX Limited (ASX:DCC), the world’s first publicly listed blockchain technology company. He started at DigitalX in 2014 as a Prop Trader, was promoted to VP Business Development and Investor Relations before being named CEO of DigitalX in 2016.

Leigh Travers posted the following note on social media regarding his departure from Binance:

After nearly two years at Binance Australia, I am stepping back from my position as CEO and handing over the reins to Ben Rose, who has been doing an outstanding job managing Binance New Zealand and the Pacific Islands.

In the coming weeks, I will be working closely with Ben to ensure a smooth handover of operations in the region and introduce him to our network of partners and stakeholders that we work with across the community as part of Binance’s commitment to growing the Web3 industry.

I am looking forward to watching the growth of the Web3 industry and of Binance and will continue to support the Binance business as a Director of Binance Australia Derivatives.

I am immensely proud of my time at Binance in which we grew to over 1 million users in the last two years. None of this would have been possible without the support of the crypto community.
