Exclusive: Spec Capital gets ASIC wholesale license
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that Australia based CFDs brokerage operator Spec Capital Group has received an ASIC license for Spec Capital Group Pty Ltd. The license allows Spec Capital (at website speccapitalgroup.com) to offer services to wholesale clients.
The company said that this major development for Spec comes as the company enters the Australian wholesale CFD market, with a vision to not compromise the quality of its offering by remaining a forerunner in compliance.
Lucy Lu, General Manager at Spec Capital said,
“Getting this license is a huge milestone for our business, and a lot of effort has gone into getting it. We have done our best to ensure we have a robust compliance framework, and receiving our AFSL signals a clear vote of confidence in Spec from one of the toughest regulators globally.
“We remain committed to putting together the most complete trading offering on the market – trading can be done better, and we believe we have the expertise to realise this goal.”
Spec Capital was established in 2025 by former IC Markets director and CFO Lucy Lu, based in Australia, who serves as General Manager. The company has backing from an investor group led by James E. Thompson III, Executive Chairman of Australia based logistics company Grace Group. The group also operates offshore (Mauritius domiciled) broker Spec Markets at website specmarkets.com. Earlier this year the group onboarded TMGM marketing executive Chris Devenish-Meares, as Senior Marketing Manager.
