FNG has learned that UAE based online broker ADSS (formerly ADS Securities) has hired Dan Squires as the company’s new Chief Commercial Officer (CCO).

Dan Squires joins ADSS from Saxo Bank’s UK unit, relocating from London to Abu Dhabi in the process. He had joined Saxo UK in 2023 as Head of Sales, and was named Chief Commercial Officer last year. Prior to his time at Saxo Bank, Dan worked at TP ICAP’s Liquidnet, RBC, Citi, and Merrill Lynch, with a brief stint at AI startup Imandra.

After withdrawing from the UK market in 2023, Abu Dhabi based ADSS focuses mostly on clients in the MENA region. ADSS, via its parent company ADS Holding LLC, is controlled by UAE businessman Mahmood Ebraheem Al Mahmood and is run by CEO Ahmed Khalifa Al Mehairi.

Dan posted the following note on social media regarding his move to ADSS (and to the UAE).

I am firm believer in the power of saying yes to conversations. Because you never know where they may lead! Several months ago I took an interesting call … fast forward to this week and I am delighted to have started as Chief Commercial Officer at ADSS in Abu Dhabi.

This is nothing to do with UK taxes / growth / politics and everything to do with the opportunity to play a part in taking the UAE’s #1 local broker into its next exciting phase of growth. Hugely excited to join Ahmed Khalifa Al Mehairi and team. Can’t promise more videos but can promise we have very big aspirations and plans.
