Exclusive: CPT Markets hires GO Markets MENA exec Sherif Sanad, Mike Greenhalgh
FNG Exclusive… FNG has learned that London based, FCA regulated multi-asset brokerage firm CPT Markets has made a number of senior hires, as the broker looks to “ramp up” its operations both domestically and in the MENA region in the coming months.
CPT Markets – formerly known as Citypoint Trading – was sold a couple years ago, with Chinese entrepreneur Zhijian Wang acquiring control of the broker from former CEO Salam Alaswad and Jordanian investor Mahdi Agha. The broker, which topped £2.1 million in Revenues in 2015, was basically inactive for the past few years before rebranding from Citypoint to CPT.
Joining CPT is Sherif Sanad (pictured above), who has been CEO MENA for Australia based Retail FX broker GO Markets for the past three and a half years. He will become a director of the UK entity CPT Markets UK Limited, and oversee the company’s growth in the MENA region, among other responsibilities. Prior to joining GO Markets in early 2019 Mr. Sanad was CEO of Cyprus based Exclusive Capital (2014-2018), MENA Region Director at Velocity Trade (2013-2014), and had also worked at RG Markets and One Financial Markets.
Also joining CPT is Mike Greenhalgh, formerly Derivatives Manager at Valbury Capital. He has also worked at StoneX and at MF Global.
